Happy Labour Day everyone!
I am a bit late with this post as I was away, soaking up the last of the summer!
This week, for LeAnne's Snapshot & a Song meme
I have a somewhat tongue in cheek post
which just happens to also fit
for Macro Monday over at Lisa's Chaos
which just happens to also fit
for Macro Monday over at Lisa's Chaos
The photo was one of those that catches your eye
as you are walking by
and you take two steps back
and then hope it will still be there when you get back with your camera.
I was fortunate as it was a windy day
and the little dandelion parachute blew away
just after I finished snapping!
By way of explanation I should mention that
while growing up we called these dandelion seeds
a 'kiss'.
It is caught in the branch of a rose bush that has grown amok in my garden...
So this snapshot is a
"Kiss from a Rose"
I happen to love that song
and haven't been able to get it out of my mind since!
"Kiss From A Rose"
There used to be a graying
tower alone on the sea.
You became the light on the
dark side of me.
Love remained a drug that's
the high and not the pill.
But did you know,
That when it snows,
My eyes become large and
The light that you shine can
be seen.
Baby,
I compare you to a kiss from
a rose on the gray.
Ooh,
The more I get of you,
The stranger it feels, yeah.
And now that your rose is in
bloom.
A light hits the gloom on the
gray.
There is so much a man can
tell you,
So much he can say.
You remain,
My power, my pleasure, my
pain, baby
To me you're like a growing
addiction that I can't deny.
Won't you tell me is that
healthy, baby?
But did you know,
That when it snows,
My eyes become large and the
light that you shine can be seen.
Baby,
I compare you to a kiss from
a rose on the gray.
Ooh, the more I get of you
The stranger it feels, yeah
Now that your rose is in
bloom.
A light hits the gloom on the
gray,
I've been kissed by a rose on
the gray,
I've been kissed by a rose
I've been kissed by a rose on
the gray,
...And if I should fall along
the way
I've been kissed by a rose
...been kissed by a rose on
the gray.
There is so much a man can
tell you,
So much he can say.
You remain
My power, my pleasure, my
pain.
To me you're like a growing
addiction that I can't deny, yeah
Won't you tell me is that
healthy, baby.
But did you know,
That when it snows,
My eyes become large and the
light that you shine can be seen.
Baby,
I compare you to a kiss from
a rose on the gray.
Ooh, the more I get of you
The stranger it feels, yeah
Now that your rose is in
bloom,
A light hits the gloom on the
gray.
Yes I compare you to a kiss
from a rose on the gray
Ooh, the more I get of you
The stranger it feels, yeah
And now that your rose is in
bloom
A light hits the gloom on the
gray
Now that your rose is in
bloom,
A light hits the
gloom on the gray.

Thanks so much for participating! I have an affinity for Seal and there is something so ethereal about his music - this song in particular. His music evokes a lot of memories for me. I got to see him a few years back here in Nashville and he put on an incredible live performance. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteLovely images! I am another fan of Seal, I love his music. Have a wonderful week!
