macro monday 24.9.12

Just got back from a trip to Haliburton, Ontario

where the fall colours are definitely advanced further than at home!

As we went over the bridge that crosses the river that Mom's place is on, 

we spotted a great blue heron standing on a sand bar!!

The Mister quickly pulled over as I pulled out my camera 

but as I crossed the bridge it took off up into the trees.

Disappointed about the missed shot, I headed back to the car

only to come upon this little fella racing across the road!

I felt better that I had at least gotten something to show!!
